The success of Power of Harmony depends on you! Help us bring vocal music education, live concerts, youth ensemble formation and adult mentorship into juvenile prisons. Your donations help pay our teachers, our visiting performing musicians, the t-shirts worn by the Power of Harmony youth and travel to/from the facilities by our faculty.
Teach
Teaching vocal music in a prison setting is all about meeting the youth where they are! We use a culturally-responsive pedagogy. And you don't have to be a licensed or degreed teacher. If you have interest and believe you have the passion to bring music to our young men.
Understand, too, that becoming a Power of Harmony teacher also means some training and preparation including a criminal background check, orientation, and fingerprinting. Still interested? Reach out. Let's talk!
Volunteer
There are a number of ways to volunteer with RTA including serving as an adult mentor in the prisons, working with our youth and our teachers in the classroom. You might also consider serving on our Advisory Council or Board of Trustees, or simply lending your time and expertise with pro bono services. Contact us to learn more!
